Operator Guide

This page explains how to use the LiveMatrix client during setup and live operation.

On the login screen, enter:

  • server URL
  • username
  • password

In a standard deployment, the client URL is:

  • ws://<server>:45678/ws

Some deployments may use a different host, HTTPS termination, or a custom path. Use the URL supplied by your administrator.

The client can remember credentials and support auto-login if that has been enabled on the device.

Open Settings

Use the gear icon to open settings.

Available settings include:

  • server URL
  • input device
  • output device
  • latency preset
  • noise suppression
  • auto gain control
  • echo cancellation
  • mic gain
  • mic gate threshold

If you change devices, test them before going live.

Main Screen Overview

After login, the main screen shows:

  • connection state
  • microphone and incoming audio meters
  • a global talk/mute control area
  • the keys assigned to your account

If you see no keys, your account probably has no profile assigned or the assigned profile has no keys configured.

Key Layout

Each key has two sides:

  • Listen: receive audio from a source
  • Talk: send audio to a destination

A key may allow only listen, only talk, or both. That depends on how your profile was configured.

Key Behavior

Current key behavior is:

  • press and hold for momentary operation
  • short tap can latch if latching is allowed for that side
  • latched keys stay active until toggled off

Use the tune icon on a key to open the listen-level control for that route.

Listen Levels

Each key can have its own listen level.

If a source is too loud or too quiet:

  1. open the tune control on that key
  2. adjust the listen level
  3. confirm the audio balance in your headset or speakers

Global Modes

The client supports two global modes.

Talk All

When the global control is active in Talk All mode, your microphone is opened to all currently active talk destinations.

Mute All

When the global control is active in Mute All mode, your microphone is muted even if talk destinations are already armed.

This lets you keep routing prepared while still controlling whether your mic is globally live.

Banners And Warnings

Muted By Admin

If an administrator remotely mutes your device, the client shows a Muted by admin banner.

Audio Connection Warning

If the audio path is not fully established, the client shows a connection warning. Check:

  • the server URL
  • network reachability
  • microphone permissions
  • the selected input and output devices

Operating Tips

  • verify your input and output devices before live use
  • check the level meters after signing in
  • confirm both Listen and Talk are active where needed
  • use per-key listen levels instead of changing system volume for one route
